Legend of Destruction: Film Screening and Discussion
As we mark Tisha Be’Av, experience the gripping tale of the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, as Jerusalem becomes a powder keg of social unrest and religious fervor amidst Roman rule. The film’s unique visual style was created with 1,500 original paintings by David Polonsky and Michael Faust, the artists behind the Oscar-nominated Waltz with Bashir. With stunning visuals and a stirring score, Legend of Destruction delves into the dangers of greed, social injustices, corruption, polarization, political hubris, and religious fanaticism in the name of God. These events took place some 2,000 years ago, yet the timeliness of this seminal story to the Jewish people is stirring.
The film screening and discussion will be followed by Minha for Tisha Be’Av in the Rabbi Rachel Cowan Chapel.
Registration closes on August 13 at 6:30 PM.
