30s and 40s Learning

Join BJ Rabbinic Fellow Grace Gleason for an evening of learning with fellow 30s and 40s. In honor of Black History Month this February, we will draw on Torah as well as secular sources to understand an argument for reparations for descendants of slaves in the United States. Where can we find precedence for this within the Jewish tradition, and why do many feel that reparations are a necessity in 2021 America? This is a controversial topic— come prepared to engage in this learning with respect and curiosity.
