Deepen the restorative nature of Shabbat with Rabbi Sheila Peltz Weinberg, a Philadelphia-based BJ member and leading teacher of Jewish mindfulness meditation. Throughout Shabbat, we’ll learn from Rabbi Weinberg and hear her insights into faith, spiritual practice, and navigating today’s world.

The weekend will begin with Kabbalat Shabbat followed by a catered Shabbat dinner as Rabbi Weinberg shares from her newest book, Let Us All Breathe Together. We’ll make time for questions and conversation as we discuss the book’s reflections.

On Shabbat morning, Rabbi Weinberg will join Cantor David Mintz and Rabbi Shuli Passow for a mindfulness Shabbat morning service; we will then join the full community in the Sanctuary for the D’var Torah, Torah reading, and the remainder of the service.

Following Shabbat morning services and the Community Kiddush, Rabbi Weinberg will review her essay “When I See Your Face I See the Face of God” from Let Us All Breathe Together, derived from her first trip to Israel-Palestine with Combatants for Peace. She’ll be joined by BJ member Martha Ackelsberg.

We look forward to seeing you at this special Shabbat!
