Trip Details:

Join Rabbi Felicia Sol for an in-depth encounter with women of today’s Israeli society. Meet some of the change-makers who are transforming their communities and changing narratives about the role of women in religious and political leadership. Experience eight days in Israel, including a powerful commemoration of Yom HaZikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut, with a community of women from BJ.

This trip is open to BJ members who identify as female and are over the age of 18.

The trip includes seven night’s stay in a 5-star hotel in Israel. It will include short tours, as well as speaker sessions. You will learn about a different aspect of Israeli society, focusing on women that are socially active in various ways, or representing minority segments in Israeli society. Some of the women you’ll meet are active in the Jewish world, such as a maverick woman in the Jewish orthodox society. Some are part of the larger Israeli population, like the feminist Bedouins in southern Israel. We will also want to get you familiar with organizations constantly striving to improve and change the public sphere in Israel for the better. Also, you’ll experience two of Israel’s most important days (Yom Ha’zikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut). For these we are planning meaningful experiences that will help you better understand and feel the spirit of those days.
