Biography

Paula fell in love with BJ in 1997, after attending her first Kabbalat Shabbat. Her husband Jeff was already a BJ member when they met in 2000 and they joined as a family in 2001. Paula’s career was spent as an executive in the healthcare sector, having held roles at the United Hospital Fund of New York, Mount Sinai Health, and most recently, at NYU Langone Health. She is a lifelong volunteer ; her prior not-for-profit board experience includes the Alumni Council of New York University; president, Binghamton University Alumni Association, and chair, Board of Directors, Hillel at Binghamton. Closer to home, Paula’s BJ volunteer efforts began with children and teen activities, but grew to include the annual fund, High Holy Day usher, occasional Torah reader, the Celebrate Community Auction committee, and wherever her skills could be put to good use. Since joining the board, Paula now serves on the executive committee, as co-chair of Development, on both the board and community committees for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, and is a member of the Community Engagement Committee. Paula and Jeff live in Riverdale with their teenage son Eli, who shares a love of BJ and is actively involved in the teen program.
