Jessie Reagen Mann is a freelance cellist based in New York City and involved with a variety of musical projects. A lover of chamber music, Jessie is a member of various ensembles and a dedicated educator. Jessie is currently the cellist in the Om Shalom Trio and was accepted into Hadar’s first Rising Song Fellowship with a cohort of exceptionally talented musical and spiritual leaders under the direction of Joey Weisenberg. As a result, Jessie has been creating niggunim inspired by her youngest son’s baby babble.

Jessie has performed with artists such as Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Ra Ra Riot, Enya, Gòn, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, tap dancer Savion Glover, Natalie Merchant, and Anat Cohen; appearing at iconic venues and events across the city, from Joe’s Pub to the Met Ball. Jessie played in Adele’s November 2015 concert at Radio City Music Hall (NBC) and the Adele Live 2016 tour, and can often be heard in various Broadway musicals. Also classically trained, she has also performed under the batons of Michael-Tilson Thomas, Charles Dutoit, David Hayes, Joseph Colaneri, and Kurt Masur, among others.

Jessie was thrilled to co-compose the score for “Waves” for Carolyn Dorfman Dance. “Waves” premiered at NJPAC in March, 2015 and has since been performed all over the globe to critical acclaim. Jessie also composed the score for Carolyn Dorfman’s solo work, “Hourglass,” which premiered in 2012.

Jessie recently authored the cello edition of 60 Seconds to Excellence. This left-hand technique book is a series of short exercises to develop, maintain, and remediate the accuracy of the left hand. The 60 Seconds to Excellence method has been presented at the Illinois Music Education Association (IMEA) convention in January, 2017 and will be presented at the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) Convention in March, 2019.
