Carol Smokler

Biography

Carol Shalita Smokler, along with her husband, Irv Smokler, have been out-of-town members and supporters of BJ for close to 20 years. They live in Florida and the Berkshires, but spend much time in NYC. Carol participated in BJ’s civil rights trip in 2019 and, since the pandemic, Carol and Irv have been able to participate regularly online.

Carol is a retired psychologist, who has been an active member of the Jewish community for many years. She has served on the Board of the Jewish Agency for Israel, chaired the JFNA Emergency Committee, and Partnership 2000, as well as serving as President of JFNA’s National Women’s Philanthropy. She was a member of the Hillel International Board of Directors and Executive Committee for 12 years and continues to serve on Hillel’s Board of Governors. She continues to serve on the Executive Committee of her local Jewish Federation in South Palm Beach County as well as the Board of Directors of the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA). Carol and Irv have three sons, two daughters-in-law, and best of all three wonderful grandchildren, who live right in NYC.
