Family Life and Learning: Kadima@BJ Covid-19 Policy Updates

As a Jewish community, we learn that Pikuah Nefesh, the principle that we value human life, supersedes everything else in Jewish law. With the approval from the FDA of the Emergency Use Authorization of the Pzifer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11, we will be extending our vaccination requirements to that age group. All students will have to be fully vaccinated (two shots + two weeks) by January 3, 2022 to attend Kadima in person. Additionally, beginning Monday, January 3, 2022, all campus access for those 5 years and older will be limited to those who can verify full and current vaccination at that time. This includes those newly vaccinated, and also the expectation that folks have received booster shots in a timely manner as prescribed by the CDC.

Children who are enrolled in Kadima@BJ will be required to have proof of vaccination on file, parents of children enroled in Kadima can submit child/ren’s proof of vaccination here.

For now, we will keep all COVID-19 protocols for Kadima in place, including masking requirements, distancing, classroom capacity limits, and health forms. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 case numbers and the vaccination rate in New York City, and will re-evaluate our protocols as needed.
