Shabbat Afternoon Forest Bathing with Aviv
Join Aviv in Central Park for Forest Bathing, a low-intensity, mindfulness-in-nature activity based on the Japanese practice shinrin-yoku. Meeting spot will be sent out prior to the program.
Led by BJ member and certified guide Nancy Kopans, founder of Urban Edge Forest Therapy, this event will take place light rain or shine – Please note that space is limited. Registration closes on October 23 at 1:00PM.
Shirin-yoku was coined by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries in 1982 and has since spread globally and received much attention, including in Outside Magazine, NPR, The New York Times, and The Atlantic, due to the growing recognition of the many health benefits, such as stress reduction, that come from spending time in natural areas.
Forest bathing focuses on gently engaging mind, spirit, and body with the natural environment — empowering participants to deepen their connection with themselves, one another, and nature right here in our city.
