Memory and Inheritance: A Guided Tour with Artist Tobi Kahn
Award-winning artist Tobi Kahn will give us a guided tour of his current exhibition, which features 48 crafted works on Jewish ritual and tradition.
Tobi Kahn is a painter and sculptor whose works are in major museum collections globally. His Omer counter, representing the seven weeks between Pesah and Shavuot, is displayed outside our Rabbi Rachel Cowan Chapel.
The Museum at Eldridge Street is housed in the Eldridge Street Synagogue, a national historic landmark that was built in 1887 and served the Jewish immigrant population of the Lower East Side.
The week before the event, we will reach out to registrants with information on transportation options.
Registration closes on July 23 at 5:00 PM.
This event is sponsored by Connections, BJ’s social group for older adults, and open to the entire community. Please contact Ellen Metzger with any questions.
The Eldridge Street Synagogue is generously waiving its entrance fee for this event; we encourage you to make a donation in the amount of the usual fee ($15 for adults / $10 for seniors and students) to support the museum’s work.
