Aviv Giving Circle (In Person)
All events in seriesIf you’ve ever thought about how much money you should be giving to charity or how to decide where to put your dollars, this new cohort of the Aviv Giving Circle is for you! A giving circle is a group of people who pool their charitable donations and decide together where to allocate their money for a larger impact.
This is an opportunity for a small group of 10-15 Aviv members (20s and 30s) to come together, build community, discuss giving and social justice priorities guided by Jewish values, and pool resources to make a charitable gift to a NYC-based organization of the group’s choosing.
We will meet once a week in November leading up to Giving Tuesday. This cohort will be hybrid, with two sessions in person, and two virtual sessions.
Aviv Giving Circle dates and times:
- November 7, 6:30 – 8:30 PM – IN PERSON
- November 14, 6:30 – 8:30 PM – ONLINE
- November 21, 6:30 – 8:30 PM – ONLINE
- November 28, 6:30 – 8:30 PM – IN PERSON
Participating in a giving circle comes with a financial expectation. We understand that everyone’s financial situation looks different and what every individual is able to give may vary. The minimum requirement for this giving circle is $180.
The Aviv giving circle will be facilitated by Community Engagement Program Coordinator Margaret Piraino and Social Action/Social Justice Manager Kiana Davis. If you are interested, have questions, or want to join, please fill out this form and Kiana (kdavis@bj.org) or Margaret (mpiraino@bj.org) will be in touch with you.
