BJ Community Shabbaton 2025
Save the Date: February 7-9, 2025
For the past two years, BJ members have gathered together for the BJ Shabbaton, a special Shabbat celebration infused with learning, joy, and connection. Whether you’ll be coming from around the corner or from hundreds of miles away, mark your calendar now for our third annual Shabbaton, to be held in New York City February 7-9, 2025.
This year’s Shabbaton will take place on Shabbat Shirah, when we chant the Song of the Sea as part of the Torah reading—so expect even more of the joyful singing and talented musicians that are core to this community, including a special Shabbat Shirah concert on Saturday night.

BJ Shabbaton 2023
Exactly 601 people registered for our second Community Shabbaton on December 8–10, 2023, bringing together BJ members of all ages—and from many places outside of New York City—to celebrate Shabbat and Hanukkah, and to honor Rabbi Felicia Sol for her more than 20 years of service and dedication to BJ and her 2021 appointment as senior rabbi.
The Shabbaton would not have been possible without the leadership and work of our Shabbaton committee, and the 60 BJ members who volunteered over the course of the weekend.
We wish a big yasher koah to the Shabbaton co-chairs: Elizabeth Greenstein, Ruthie Fierberg, Marvin Szneler, and Elain Calmon Waldman.
