Ariel Zwang

Biography

Ariel has been a member of BJ since the early ‘90s. She is the CEO of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). Ariel was previously the CEO of Safe Horizon, the nation’s largest non-profit provider of services to victims of crime and abuse; Executive Director of New York Cares; and a White House Fellow in the Clinton Administration. She is a past board member of the Points of Light Foundation, Miss Porter’s School, the Harvard Alumni Association, and the Human Services Council of New York. Ariel is a regular at Shabbat and holiday services. She and her husband, Gordon Mehler, live a couple of blocks from BJ. They are the proud parents of young adult daughters, Grace and Rachel, who grew up at BJ.
